ASIA PACIFIC BROADCASTING UNION NEWS FORUM
MC
I had the honor of moderating the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union News Forum, which gathered over 230 members from 65 countries across the region. As the world’s largest broadcasting union, the ABU connects media reaching nearly 3.5 billion people.
The forum’s theme, "Journalism Under Fire," focused on the urgent challenges journalists face - from reporting in conflict zones to combating disinformation and algorithmic bias. We also explored innovations like generative AI and their implications for media justice.
Our discussions went beyond headlines, centering on media freedom, ethical journalism, and amplifying marginalized voices. It was a vital space to push for a media landscape rooted in transparency, accountability, and public interest, where broadcasters collaborate to defend democracy and equity in a rapidly evolving world.
